| PNG Postmark 1990 (Oct) WEWAK (Possible Error)

| "WEWAK/9AM18OC90/PNG" (East Sepik Province)(Possible Error) on 35t Baining Enb Dancer (1989) on Air Mail cover to Grange SA.. Postmarker WE-16 was sent to this office on 28 July 1988 and was used on the counter from 10 August 1988. According to "The Postal History Of Papua New Guinea 1945 - 1998 Volume 1 Part 2 Page 83 (Garwood & Heward)", "... It appears this cds was made with the year wheel 88 so was not able to be used after 31 December 1988." Postmark is 1990. WE-16 is the only Postmarker shown that has the TIME wheels in this period. Previous was WE-5 "PAPUA & NEW GUINEA" (ceased 18 July 1972) - Next was WE-16 - then WE-26 and WE-27 (WEWAK 2 and 3) and "PNG" (commenced use 31 May 1994)
