"Owner Discloses Interest. Before Mr. Justice Macfarlan, in the Practice Court yesterday, the adjourned summonses arising out of the disqualifica- tion of the racehorse Purser, winner of the Caulfield Cup, on October 18, came on for bearing. The application for ah interim in- junction waa made by Messrs. John Ram- say Corteen, George Tye, Cecil Temple Godby, and Hugh Harold Cairns .against the Victoria Racing Club, tile Victoria Amateur Turf Club, individual members of the Victoria Racing Club, and others. The rejection of the entries of Heroic and Irish Hliytlim was also questioned. A sum- mons taken out on behalf of the Victoria Racing Club asked that judgment be en- tered for the defendants, or that thc action be stayed or dismissed. Plaintiffs desired that thc action be tried before a judge and jury, but defendants, in their summons, asked alternatively that thc trial be before a judge without a jury. Mr. Hayes, K.C., Mr. Walker, and Mr. I,. B. Cussen (instructed by Messrs. Secomb and Woodfull) appeared for plaintiffs; Mr. Dixon, ICC, and Mr. Lewis for the" de- fendants' representative-of the Victoria Racing Club, and Mr. Lowe and Mr. Menzies for the defendants' representative of the Victoria Amateur Turf Club. Messrs. Kulin, Smith, and Jcifreson were the solicitors for all defendants. Mr.'Dixon said thut the summons taken out by defendants was to strike out the action as having no substance."
